I’ll be checking out of the Overland Park Marriott in an hour, but the voyage west will not begin for a few more hours. I’ve got things that have to be done before I leave the Kansas City area. I am still debating the trip to Buffalo Wild Wings.
I want to go somewhere else so bad. I have not been outside the borders of Kansas, Missouri or Nebraska–save for very brief driving stints in far southwest Iowa from Kansas City to Omaha and vice-versa–since 2010. I have not been farther east than Columbia, Missouri, farther south than Wichita, farther north than Omaha and farther west than Goodland since I stayed in Tulsa in July 2010 for the Shrine Bowl in Pittsburg, which is in the southeast corner of the state.
Of course, there’s no way on earth I want to go to Louisiana right now. I lived in that sauna for too long, and the week I spent there in 2010 was a harsh reminder of just how much I hated it. Maine is on my radar, but of course it’s way too long to drive there. Maybe Wyoming? North Dakota?
Okay, time to break down the computer. It hasn’t moved since last Thursday.
