Stomaching two power outages

I have got to stop going two, three, sometimes four days without taking my medicine. I didn’t take most of it Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and when I took it all today, it made me nauseous. There are two medications which kick my butt and make me queasy, even if I haven’t eaten anything in several hours. Good thing for me I found an over the counter medication which counteracts the nausea better than Pepto-Bismol.

To me, Pepto-Bismol is a jack of all trades, master of none. Alka Seltzer is far superior for indigestion and hearburn, and Immodium AD does a much better job on diarrhea. Emetrol, the medicine I’ve been taking for nausea, is also far and away better than Pepto.

Enough about medicine.

The power went out TWICE early this morning at 1224 North Brooks. It went out at 1:35 for 20 minutes, then again at 2:40 for at least 30 minutes. The second time it went out, I fell asleep and then it came on when I woke up out of my funk. My left contact fell out, and I couldn’t find it at first. It was on my pillow. I had to put it in solution because it had folded over.

I didn’t want to put a new one in today, because I’m planning to change Thursday. I have a superstition about changing it on days when I have an apppointment with Crista, which will hold true this time, but also, I see Dr. Jones for my biennial eye exam.
I’m in Salina right now, back at Buffalo Wild Wings. I got the work I needed to get done today early, and I’ve got a good head start on tomorrow, so I figured I could slip out.
It snowed in Russell last night. It was a wet, heavy, slushy snow, about 3-4 inches. Most of it was melted on the streets by time I left at 2, but it was still on the grassy surfaces, and the streets were wet.

When I got to the Russell/Ellsworth County line on I-70, there was no snow to be found. Apparnetly, the snow line ended in Russell County. I surmised as much when I looked at the list of schools closed today, and Russell’s schools were the farthest east. Most of the others were in southwest Kansas, although Ellis, Hays, Victoria and WaKeeney all gave the kids a third day to the weekend.

I’m looking at going to Norton tomorrow night for the Bluejays’ basketball games vs. Goodland. Would give me a chance to see Peggy, to see Caitlyn play, and get a meal out of it. Not a bad thought.

About David

Louisiana native living in Kansas. New Orleans born, LSU graduate. I have Asperger’s Syndrome, one toe less than most humans, addictions to The Brady Bunch, Lifetime movies, Bluey, most sports, food and trivia. Big fan of Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers, New Orleans Saints, Montreal Canadiens. Was a big fan of Quebec Nordiques until they moved to Denver. My only celebrity crush is NFL official Sarah Thomas. I strongly dislike LSU fans who think Alabama is its biggest rival, warm weather, steaks cooked more than rare, hot dogs with ketchup, restaurants without online ordering, ranch dressing, Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Alex Ovechkin, Barry Bonds, Putin, his lover in Belarus, North Korean dictators, Venezuelan dictators, all NHL teams in the south (especially the Lightning and Panthers), Brooklyn Nets and Major League Soccer.
