Strength sapped

I’m not feeling my best, but don’t worry, it’s nothing life threatening. I’m sorry I went almost 48 hours between posts, but this bug has me a bit down.

I didn’t leave Kansas City until 11 a.m. yesterday and got home right at 3. I went straight downstairs and slept most of the rest of Sunday and well into Monday, although I did stay up long enough to warm up some of my mother’s shrimp scampi for dinner.

I’ve spent most of Monday sleeping, save for the period around noon where I got my column and my Shrine Bowl story done for the Osborne County Farmer. I’m taking in a heck of a lot fluids today, between water, Gatorade and pop, I have probably consumed close to five liters. Hopefully this will abate by Thursday when I leave for Kansas City again.

About David

I am a sportswriter for a group of weekly newspapers in small towns across northern Kansas. I grew up in New Orleans, went to college at LSU and wandered in the wilderness until Hurricane Katrina finally put me on the path to my current job.
