Sad-sack Sunday revisited
I have no earthly idea why I stayed until 9:30 last night at Buffalo Wild Wings. Liz left just after 4, and I certainly was not interested too much in the Chiefs-Panthers NFL exhibition game. I guess I stayed for Lisa, but then again, with the day I was having, I should have gone earlier to spare her.
It got so bad yesterday I had to play 36 holes of Golden Tee just to release my stress. Golden Tee? That’s a reminder of my days at Ivar’s in Baton Rouge, when Golden Tee was all the rage and not too many people played Buzztime. I played neither, instead content with the TV content, my copy of The Advocate, and the jukebox.
When I got back to the Courtyard Briarcliff, I had it out with Jack Krier over the situation at the Kansas City Airport Marriott. He thinks I need to drop it entirely, but I have said no, it’s about my nearly-destroyed reputation. I did not do what I am accused of, and I want to clear my name of such spurious charges. I would never buy alcoholic beverages for anyone on duty, because I do not want them to lose their job. And I especially would NEVER, EVER buy them for people I like, such as I liked the people who worked at that hotel.
As for Monday, blah, but maybe blah is better than the alternative. Back at Buffalo Wild Wings for sports trivia night. I’m going for my fourth consecutive national high score.
