Not ready for the day

I’m grateful checkout time at the hotel I’m staying in Kansas City is noon, not 11 a.m. If it were 11, I wouldn’t make it. I still have to get in the shower and get ready to go.

I stayed way too late at Buffalo Wild Wings yesterday. Then again, knowing I would be leaving Kansas City today, I wanted to milk it for as long as possible. This was an unexpected visit, one I’m very glad I made.

I saw quite a few people I’ve known for awhile. Larry came by for lunch, and then Dawn and Robb were there in the late afternoon/early evening, and Skylar, the big Iowa Hawkeyes fan, was there for a very long time. Unfortunately, his St. Louis Blues lost to Boston.

I would have left at 9, but there was a lady sitting at the corner of the bar I got to talking to. I would have felt bad leaving her alone, so I figured I’d stay at least until she left. She left at 10, but I ended up staying another hour.

I’ve got a few things to do at home to make it ready for my parents. They’re on the road right now. They’ll stop at Columbia tonight, then be back in Russell by noon or a little after tomorrow. I’ve got to get up early Monday to go get my blood drawn in Hays in advance of my appointment with Dr. Custer Thursday.

Next week will be a busy one. Spring sports are getting kicked off, meaning I’ll have more work to do in the early week. Then I’m planning on going to Norton Friday for its track meet, mostly to see Peggy and Caitlyn. I’ll be back in Missouri soon enough.

Enough fooling around. Time to get rolling…

About David

Louisiana native living in Kansas. New Orleans born, LSU graduate. I have Asperger’s Syndrome, one toe less than most humans, addictions to The Brady Bunch, Lifetime movies, Bluey, most sports, food and trivia. Big fan of Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers, New Orleans Saints, Montreal Canadiens. Was a big fan of Quebec Nordiques until they moved to Denver. My only celebrity crush is NFL official Sarah Thomas. I strongly dislike LSU fans who think Alabama is its biggest rival, warm weather, steaks cooked more than rare, hot dogs with ketchup, restaurants without online ordering, ranch dressing, Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Alex Ovechkin, Barry Bonds, Putin, his lover in Belarus, North Korean dictators, Venezuelan dictators, all NHL teams in the south (especially the Lightning and Panthers), Brooklyn Nets and Major League Soccer.
